Nixon II

A continuation of Part I, the second phase of this project was substantial. The owners needed more breathing room for their growing family and wanted to transform the rarely used deck into interior living space. The deck was converted into a dining room, which allowed the kitchen to expand beyond its galley layout, rounding the corner into an expansive eat-in breakfast peninsula. The flooring was updated throughout, new windows were installed, and an expansive sliding door was added to the new dining room, providing views of the back garden. A custom white oak live-edge dining room table was designed specifically to maximize space, while white oak accents and a mix of copper and brass elements warmed the space. In the master, the arched window was removed and an office was added in one of the barely usable eaves. CWX Architects were the architects. Completed in 2024.
